My name is Pia and I am 26 years old.
I have had my diagnosis since 2020 and, especially on the way to the operation, I was burdened by the uncertainty about whether I myself was to blame for the physical change.
That was me and my stage II type 4 lipedema:

I had tried conservative therapy, but it was a big restriction on my everyday life and quality of life. I didn’t want to live like this for the rest of my life.
Then I came to LIPOCURA® and everything changed!

I wanted to say goodbye to my lipedema because it changed the real me more and more, both visually and emotionally.

Today I just eat consciously and do 30-45 minutes of sport every day (cycling and jogging) and walk 12,000 steps a day, including walking with my dog as sporting activities.
My biggest excitement before the operation was the anaesthetic. I hadn’t had one before and had never been in hospital before. Fortunately, everyone around me was very caring and routine. That put me very much at ease and I could go into the operation without any worries. Indispensable for me in the hospital bag was a long charging cable and comfortable, loose clothing for the journey home.
To all those who still doubt the decision to have the operation, I would like to say that a new life begins on the day of the operation and everything pays off. Since the first day of the operation, I have been getting to know myself anew and I am happy every day about this new feeling of life and body! Don’t hesitate – we only have one life and it should be as self-determined as possible and without the extensive, daily lipedema restrictions.
Have courage! This new feeling of life is overwhelming.
