After completing my medical degree at the University of Kiel, I initially worked there and undertook my basic surgical training in cardiac and vascular surgery at the University Medical Centre of Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel. I then moved in 2015 to the Department of Plastic and Hand Surgery, which includes the Centre for Severe Burns, at St. Georg Hospital in Leipzig, and in 2017 to Dresden University Hospital. There, I played a key role in establishing the Department of Plastic and Hand Surgery and most recently worked there as a senior registrar. From 2023 until mid-2026, I headed the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery department at a private clinic in northern Germany, with a particular focus on the treatment of lipedema. Since then, I have been working at the Elbklinik Hamburg as a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery.
In addition to reconstruction and restoration of body contour, I have specialised in body-contouring and body-tightening procedures following weight loss, as well as in the surgical treatment of lipedema.
I am a specialist in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery and a member of the German Society for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (DGPRÄC). I also hold the additional qualification in hand surgery.
Following the german health insurance decision in 2020, surgical treatment of stage III lipedema became a key part of my surgical practice. Since then, I have supported many women affected by the condition and have continually expanded my knowledge in this field, so that I now regularly operate on patients at all stages of lipedema. In addition to this work, my areas of specialisation include aesthetic liposuction and body contouring procedures, including post-bariatric surgery. It is precisely this breadth of experience that benefits you if body contouring is also recommended following liposuction.
