I began my medical career with a thorough and broad surgical residency programme, which laid the foundation for my current surgical expertise. My initial focus was on vascular surgery, phlebology and general surgery. In 2009, I was recognised as a ‘specialist in surgery’ in accordance with the broad training regulations in force at the time, which covered all specialist areas of surgery. This was followed by specialisation in the field of visceral surgery at a renowned centre, enabling me to successfully complete my specialist training in visceral surgery and also acquire the additional title of ‘Specialist in Visceral Surgery’ in 2011. I gained a further specialisation with the additional title of ‘Proctology’ in 2014. I was then granted full training authorisation for the fields of visceral surgery, special visceral surgery and proctology by the North Rhine and Rhineland-Palatinate Medical Associations in the respective clinics. In addition, since 2011 I have been involved in setting up several complex centres and have worked as a reference surgeon at centres of excellence for minimally invasive surgery.
My professional career took me to the Rhein-Kreis Neuss Klinikum Rheinland hospital in Dormagen, where I worked as a section head and senior consultant from 2013 to 2017. Among other things, I was a visceral surgery partner in the interdisciplinary tumour board, a consultant in the gynaecological clinic and a cooperation partner in the endometriosis centre.
In July 2017, I was appointed Chief Physician of the Clinics for General and Visceral Surgery at the Linz-Remagen Hospital Association. Here, I covered the entire spectrum of general and visceral surgery. Under my leadership, the thoracic and endocrine surgery departments were expanded. My focus was particularly on minimally invasive surgery and pelvic floor disorders. In October 2020, I was also appointed Medical Director at the Remagen clinic. In this role, I was instrumental in the strategic and economic development of the clinic.
The treatment of lipoedema is an area in which I have steadily gained experience and continuously deepened my knowledge. I have continuously expanded my in-depth surgical knowledge through specialised training and internships with leading experts in plastic and aesthetic surgery. Working with and interning alongside renowned plastic surgeons, particularly in the field of liposuction and lifting operations, has been particularly formative in this regard.
I am deeply committed to lipoedema treatment, as it is important to me to achieve both aesthetic and functional results. My approach is entirely geared towards the individual needs of my patients, and I always strive to improve their quality of life in a noticeable and lasting way.
