My name is Kristina and I am 37 years old.

I’ve had my diagnosis since 2019 and what weighed on me especially on the road to surgery was that I didn’t have a doctor diagnose me with lipedema and I found out myself by accident. The pain was my daily companion and I couldn’t hear myself anymore, so I stopped talking about how bad I actually felt. Until the saving diagnosis came and I was well taken care of at LIPOCURA®.

I had conservative therapy for 1 year before the operations – compression and lymphatic drainage.

I decided in favour of LIPOCURA® because everything was coherent for me. It was all about me and my problems and not what I was told.
I wanted to say goodbye to my lipedema in order to increase my quality of life and be able to lead a normal life.

That’s what I am today:

Between then and now there are:

• 6 operations on all areas and many litres of fat.
• I had 1 laser tightening on my upper arms.

Today I eat a balanced diet and do cycling and running as sporting activities.

My biggest excitement before the operation was definitely the general anaesthetic. But then I appreciated it very much during the further operations.
Indispensable in my hospital bag were lip care, deodorant and black clothes.
I am especially grateful to my husband and family on my lipoedema journey. Without them it would not have been possible.

To all those who are still in doubt about the decision to have the surgery, I would like to say that it is completely life changing. And I feel better than ever before in my life. Lipedema is a disease that you should not be ashamed of.
