I began my medical career with in-depth specialist training, which laid the foundation for my current surgical expertise. In 2005, I received certification in radiation protection and, in 2009, I obtained certification as a specialist in surgery in accordance with the continuing education regulations in force at the time, as well as in general surgery. In 2011, I successfully completed my specialist training in visceral surgery and supplemented this with the additional designation ‘special visceral surgery’. This was followed in 2014 by the additional designation ‘proctology’. Between 2015 and 2016, I was granted full further training authorisation in the fields of proctology, visceral surgery and special visceral surgery.
My career path led me to the Rhein-Kreis Neuss Klinikum Rheinland Dormagen, where I worked as a section head and senior consultant from 2013 to 2017. Among other things, I was a visceral surgery partner in the interdisciplinary tumour board, a consultant in the gynaecological clinic and a cooperation partner in the endometriosis centre.
In July 2017, I was appointed Chief Physician of the Clinics for General and Visceral Surgery at the Linz-Remagen Hospital Association. My focus there was on oncological, minimally invasive colorectal surgery. In October 2020, I was also appointed Medical Director at the Remagen clinic, where I played a key role in the strategic and economic development of the clinic. My experience also extends to vascular, thoracic and endocrine surgery. In addition, I have established several complex centres and worked as a reference surgeon at centres of excellence for minimally invasive surgery.
The treatment of lipedema is an area in which I have gained extensive experience. I have continuously expanded my in-depth surgical knowledge through specialised training and internships with leading experts in plastic surgery. Working with renowned surgeons such as Dr Georgios Kolios, Dr Kay-Hendrik Busch and Dr Jafar Jorjani has been particularly influential in this regard.
I am deeply committed to lipedema treatment, as it is important to me to achieve both aesthetic and functional results. My approach is entirely tailored to the individual needs of my patients, and I always strive to improve their quality of life in a noticeable and lasting way.
